Mr. Collyer is the President responsible for directing origination activities in Latin America. Mr. Collyer is a member of Lone Star’s Senior Management, Global Risk and Market Risk Committees.
Mr. Collyer has over 30 years of experience in corporate restructuring, bankruptcy, real estate private equity and structured real estate finance in the United States, Canada, the UK, Europe and Latin America. Prior to joining Lone Star, Mr. Collyer was Managing Director and Global Head of RBC Real Estate Capital Partners, a wholly owned unit of the Royal Bank of Canada formed to originate mezzanine, higher leverage whole loans and loan-on-loan term acquisition facilities. Prior to joining RBC, Brian was with Goldman Sachs' Whitehall Street Real Estate Fund business where he was active in Canada, the UK, Europe and Latin America. Mr. Collyer also previously managed the origination of mortgage and real estate investments at Gentra Inc., a predecessor company to Brookfield Office Properties. During his career he has managed the sale, joint venture, acquisition and initial public offering of more than $12 billion of real estate and the origination of more than $20 billion of new loans. Mr. Collyer holds an undergraduate degree in Architecture from the University of Manitoba and an MBA from McGill University in Montreal and was a member of Canada’s 1984 Olympic team.
