Sam Loughlin, Lone Star Funds

Mr. Loughlin is the President responsible for directing origination activities in North America. Mr. Loughlin is a member of Lone Star’s Senior Management and Global Risk Committees and is Chairman of the Liquidity Risk Committee. Additionally, he serves on the board of certain portfolio companies in the United States.

Mr. Loughlin has over 20 years of experience in real estate and corporate and consumer investing, financing and asset management. Mr. Loughlin previously served as Senior Managing Director responsible for identifying and sourcing corporate, consumer and residential investment opportunities. From 2008 to 2012, Mr. Loughlin was Managing Director of Hudson Advisors L.P. where he directed the management of corporate and real estate assets in North America. Prior to Hudson, Mr. Loughlin was a Partner of a Houston based investment fund and was responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring investment and financing strategies for the investment portfolio, which included real estate, operating companies and public and private security instruments. Prior to that he was an attorney at the law firm of Vinson & Elkins LLP, where he was a member of the Business and Corporate Securities group, with experience in corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Loughlin is a summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa graduate with a B.A. from Baylor University and earned his J.D. with Honors from the University of Texas School of Law.
